Thursday, April 27 brings a very special get-together dubbed “Challenge Venice meets the Inland Municipalities”, an evening devoted entirely to presenting the close partnership between the areas traversed during the cycling segment and the organisers of the full distance triathlon taking place on Sunday, June 11. The many guests attending the event will include former professional cyclist Claudio Chiappucci who will be taking part in a test of the 47-kilometre cycling circuit earlier in the afternoon.

The second edition of Challenge Venice takes place on Sunday, June 11, and the run-up to the full distance triathlon in the Venetian Lagoon is brimming with more initiatives and accompanying events than ever.
The “Challenge Venice meets the Inland Municipalities” get-together is one such event. Taking on the evening of Thursday, April 27, it will be attended by representatives of the municipalities of Marcon, Quarto d’Altino, Roncade, Meolo, Monastier and San Biagio di Callalta through which the second cycling segment of the triathlon passes.

A large number of guests is expected not least the event’s partners, the media, enthusiasts, businesses and individuals collaborating with Challenge Venice. A big draw for the public will be Claudio Chiappucci, a former professional road race cyclist who has a very close relationship with Challenge Venice. In fact, on January 27 last, he competed as part of the Peace Relay team in the Israman triathlon at Eliat in Israel, which is twinned with Challenge Venice.

Before the evening begins, the abovementioned Chiappucci will lead a very interesting promotional cycle around the Challenge Venice’s 47-kilometre bike circuit which traverses the municipalities invited to the meeting.

The event proper gets underway at 19.00 at the Hotel Villa Fiorita in Monastier di Treviso. In addition to welcomes and speeches by the various representatives of the local authorities, there will also be a screening of a short film about the 2016 edition of the Challenge Venice. This will be followed by the presentation of the 2017 edition with, of course, a focus on the second segment.

The evening concludes with an address from Chiappucci who will talk about the race route and also present the book “El Diablo” which details his career and received its press launch just a few weeks ago.
